DETERGENT
AFC's detergent component restores and maintains engine performance through the removal and prevention of carbon deposits in and on the injector nozzles. By protecting against internal injector and spray hole deposits, users will prevent power loss, rough engine operation, and engine start problems often experienced from the regular burning of untreated fuel.

DETERGENT TESTING
The following tests were performed on the Peugeot DW-10 Diesel Engine using the Coordinating European Council (CEC) testing methodologies, F-9816-08 & F-908-08. These testing methods were developed to demonstrate a fuel's ability to provoke injector fouling as well as measure the efficacy of additives to prevent or control the resulting deposits.
- The first graph displays an initial 32 hours of engine operation with untreated diesel fuel followed by an additional 32 hours of operation with treated diesel fuel.
- During the first 32 hours, the test engine experienced an observable power loss of over 4%.
- The subsequent period of 32 hours shows restoration of lost power followed by roughly a 1% power gain over levels observed at the beginning of the test.
- These results demonstrate the “Clean Up” or deposit removal efficacy of AFC’s detergent component.
- The second graph displays 32 hours of engine operation with treated diesel fuel.
- The collected data demonstrates no sign of power loss but conversely shows minor power gains over levels observed at the beginning of the test.
- These results display the “Keep Clean” or carbon deposit prevention capabilities of AFC’s detergent, preventing power loss that is often symptomatic of carbon deposit buildup.
