AXI International’s COO Honored as One of Gulfshore Business’s 40 Under 40
In its September issue, Gulfshore Business announced its 2017 40-under-40 honorees, and AXI International’s COO, Jeff Poirier, made the list.
Every year, since 2003, Gulfshore Business recognizes forty leaders in Southwest Florida, under forty years of age, who “have distinguished themselves in their professions and in their communities.” They are honored for their professional accolades, charitable contributions, and betterment of the community’s civic well-being.
Poirier is a big proponent of education. With a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maine and an MBA from Davenport University, Poirier is continually striving to learn.
“Education should continue throughout your career,” Poirier says. “Your education is the hidden giant on whose shoulders you stand.”
Poirier specializes in a number of engineering topics, from new green technology to fuel management solutions, leading his team at AXI to many significant advancements in the fuel industry. He fosters a cross-functional team environment to increase employee’s capabilities and opportunity to always learn something.
Jeff enjoys giving back to the community and has volunteered in several ways. He has spoken to students at Dunbar High School about furthering their education and careers. Through AXI International, he has hosted a mentoring day for AMI Kids and has sponsored high school sports teams. He has also sponsored Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida through AXI International.
